The Schneider Weisse Brewery has been in existence since 1607 making it the oldest wheat beer brewery in Bavaria. Since receiving the exclusive rights from King Ludwig II in 1872 to brew wheat beers, the Schneider family has been setting the standard with beers like the Schneider Unser Aventinus Tap 6 Wheat Doppelbock.
Creamy yet with a certain crispness thanks to the wheat, the Tap 6 is crazy delicious. Its richness is evident thanks to its deep ruby colour that is accented by a frothy head. The nose has notes of dark candy, raisins, bananas, spice, liquorice and bubblegum. Tasting like it smells, its full-bodied mouthfeel leaves a warm yet balanced lingering finish. It’s hard to find a better example of the style—it’s just gorgeous.
