Goose Island IPA

Goose Island IPA

Style IPA
Country American Beers
ABV 5.9%
Serving Temp 6 to 8 °C
Bottle Size 330ml
Another American interpretation of an English-style beer and this time it's Chicago's Goose Island IPA. Sparkling clear and copper in colour, it almost looks like a lager but its pleasant hop flavours are clearly reminiscent of an elegant English IPA. With subtle citrus hops, biscuity malts, a smooth, light body and the perfect balance of sweet and bitter, the Goose Island IPA is one you'll happily enjoy no matter the occasion.

Lovely IPA but I now prefer the midway goose island to this in draft form. Nice tasting beer and well worth a purchase (Posted on 13/01/2018)

    Review by Jimbob

Too pale, too dizzy, more like lager! (Posted on 11/01/2018)

A lovely, fizzy, hoppy, refreshing IPA. A great session beer (Posted on 18/12/2017)

  • Nice, but nothing spectacular

    Review by Carlos

This is a nice IPA, but for me it's also fairly run of the mill. It's a nice drinkable IPA but not really a stand out drink. (Posted on 09/12/2017)

  • Well balanced IPA

I love this IPA, clear, clean, fresh and not too much bitterness. (Posted on 17/06/2017)

  • Great value and quality IPA

    Review by Simon

I put in a large mixed order for me and friends for the Ryder cup weekend and this was one of the beers I chose. This is one of my favourite IPA's, it's a little less hoppy then others I like with more citrus notes. I would describe this as an easy drinking, session IPA. Very, very good and increasingly available on draught in various pubs too. (Posted on 31/05/2017)

  • Hoppy!

    Review by Kit

This really packs a hoppy taste, even for an IPA. A little too much for me (Posted on 16/05/2017)

  • Favourite IPA

    Review by Ian

Very fresh citrus fruity flavours with a good kick of hops. Currently my favourite IPA. (Posted on 12/04/2017)

  • Bang for your buck

    Review by Pinchy

Great tasting IPA, very pale in colour but that makes it fresh looking. Zesty and hoppy. Super price (I think it's cheaper than the supermarket!) (Posted on 14/11/2016)

  • Great IPA for great Price

    Review by gkouzmov

I like experimenting with different IPA but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. This one is always an IPA I'm happy to go back to if I'm not sure what to go for. A very classic taste. I recommend it! (Posted on 20/09/2016)

  • Great IPA

    Review by Dr Gonzo

Another of my favourite breweries, sad to hear they have been taken over by Anheiser Busch, but that doesn't seem to have affected the quality of the beer yet - a great IPA! (Posted on 07/05/2016)

  • Best IPA

Amazing complementary tastes. Best IPA in my opinion. (Posted on 28/04/2016)

  • Seconded

    Review by Llamaman

Second time around and my opinion of this hasn't changed - it remains a quality brew. (Posted on 18/04/2016)

  • Near perfect

    Review by Llamaman

By Jove, the colonials have cracked it!
From the moment you see the copper hue, you know this is going to be maltier than your usual craft IPA, and so it proves. It's delicious - a solid malty backbone underpins citrusy hops. It's perfectly balanced and incredibly drinkable. I regret only ordering one. (Posted on 19/03/2016)

  • A classic.

    Review by CarlA

Some beer snobs might look down at this, they've moved on to better things, goose island sold out to the man etc etc. but it's a great beer, hoppy burst up front, fresh middle that sits back and is refreshing, and a nice bitter grapefruit finish. Classic. (Posted on 15/03/2016)
