Hazy golden orange with a small white head. Citrus, tropical fruit, pine, caramel and grassy. Good. (Posted on 15/08/2017)

  • Prefer Huck

    Review by Jo

Straw colour, citrus, orange juice, pineapple, honey, pine and hoppy aroma, medium crisp, slick mouthfeel, grapefruit, citrus, pine, caramel, biscuit and herbal flavour, bitter pine aftertaste. (Posted on 03/08/2017)

  • Delicious

    Review by Rich

Not too heavy on the mango, but it cuts through this rich IPA very nicely.

Order more than one... (Posted on 13/07/2017)

  • Brilliant

    Review by Trott

Pours cloudy orange with thick foamy white head. Aroma is fruity, citruses and some grass, straw and malts as well. Taste is moderate bitter with citrusy mouthfeel. Medium to heavy body, slick to creamy texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. (Posted on 30/06/2017)

  • Quite bitter

    Review by Beer Baron

A nice, bitter double IPA - one of my favourites. Very drinkable and a pleasant bitter aftertaste lingering on the tongue. (Posted on 27/06/2017)

  • Bitter Kick, Drinkable

  • Love this

    Review by Mart

This must be the best IPA I have tried so far. It kicks in immediately, beautiful strong bitterness all the way, with citrus hop aroma, refreshing, enchanting, impressive (Posted on 08/05/2017)

  • Hard to beat

    Review by Beebo

A very nice double IPA that firmly sits on the bitter side of this beer type. A taste of citrus peel and pine that gave a very pleasing drinking experience. It had a strong mouthfeel and richness and a low level of carbonation. This is a beer that is complemented by food and a world a way from the sweet and fruity double IPAs from other brewers. (Posted on 21/03/2017)

  • One of my favourites

    Review by MH

Punches at the IPA heavyweight. Lovely hop aroma, bursts with flavour, sticky toffee, intense bitterness. Trifle soaked in alcohol. Madeira wine. Keeps working the tastebuds with different hop notes of summer hay, marujauna, lychee. Malty sweet, sugar and spice. Nice (Posted on 08/02/2017)

  • Unsurprisingly good

Thornbridge doing what they do - brew excellent, unfussy beers. (Posted on 14/01/2017)

Thornbridge make some excellent beers, but this one really smashes it out the park.
    A perfect IIPA.

  • Truly imperial

    Review by Dan Mac

This is the mother of all IPAs - dangerously easy to drink considering the high ABV, superb. (Posted on 23/12/2015)

  • Cracking IPA

Enjoy all beers from Thornbridge and this one does not let down, cracking taste, not a session beer however a few of these of an evening and will be a good evening (Posted on 09/12/2015)

  • Still top of the pile

    Review by howzat

A summer holiday in the States this year saw me drink so much IPA I ended up going right off that style of beer altogether. Thankfully there is always Halycon to go back to and restore my love of IPA. If it's not the best beer in the world, it is certainly in the top handful. (Posted on 11/11/2015)

  • Goes down perfectly

    Review by Nick S

Superb. The best IPA known to beer-kind! (Posted on 06/11/2015)

  • Quaffable

    Review by TheRPer

Surprisingly quaffable for a strong beer. Hoppy and refreshing taste and fruity on the nose. Thornbridge never seem to disappoint! (Posted on 14/03/2015)

  • The best of the best

    Review by tehhaz

The crown jewel of the Thornbridge line up - no mean feat considering the brilliance of some of their beers. The flavours are so beautifully balanced that you could drink it all night, though at 7.4% the head might not be quite so beautifully balanced the next morning! (Posted on 22/02/2015)

  • Halcyon days the kingfishers are flying

  • Great IIPA

    Review by Ay Pee Horne

Corner shop sweets nose, with plenty of hops to hint at what's to come. Crisp, refreshing and incredibly juicy. Strong stuff, not one for an afternoon sit-down session. (Posted on 25/11/2014)
