Brouwerij de Kazematten is a brewery in Ypres, Belgium, which proudly incorporates both local ingredients and WWI history into its beers. Named after the dark-humoured “trench gazette” of the British soldiers who were based in the town, the Wipers Times 14 is made with local “Blessed Thistle” and hops. This Belgian Pale Ale has a nice blend of flavours and aromas: grass, mango, peaches, herbs and a grainy maltiness. The rather sweet flavours are tempered with a distinct, yet subdued, bitterness. Its smooth, creamy quality is finished with a lingering dryness. Very refreshing and very nice.

Unique blessed thistle brew

I tried this on a visit to Ypres. Bought a few to take home and spent the last year looking for a replacement available in the UK without success. It's the tastiest beer you will ever have. Buy some and keep it to yourself.. shhhh
It's hard to go wrong with Belgian beer

After Tyne Cot Cemetry, Hill 62 Museum and Menen Gate last post great beer to relax and reflect.
Great way to commemorate

Given the history of the name this is a great beer to not only commemorate but celebrate, had a few in the sun during the summer. It is a great talking point (research the name). Great Belgian beer which won't end up knocking you for six, unless you have six.
