Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale

Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale

£2.29
Style Wheat Beer
Country American Beers
ABV 4.2%
Serving Temp 6 to 8 °C
Bottle Size 330ml
Pouring Chicago's Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale releases a frothy, bubbly head with good retention that eventually settles into a thick layer over top of a deep, hazy yellow colour. Very subtle notes of wheat and bread reach the nose and are accentuated in the flavour by notes of lemon rind and citrus. It's zippy and refreshing but with a creamy mouthfeel that's deceptively fuller-bodied than its appearance. It's a perfect thirst-quencher but not for those who like to be blown away by big tastes.

Product Reviews

  • Tasty with no strong after taste

    Review by CANDEman

Not the typical german wheat beer you might be used to, but a nice refreshing slight citrusy smooth ale. I had mine chilled slightly just to make it crisper and a little more satisfying, it was nice. (Posted on 16/06/2017)

  • Mellow yellow

    Review by Good Head

Golden and hazy with no head and a lively carbonation. Very smooth and has a mellow lemon flavour that is very refreshing and rather pleasing on a warm afternoon. (Posted on 09/04/2017)

  • Nice american wheat

    Review by Kurt

Not as good as german/dutch wheat beers, but still a real nice beer (Posted on 06/12/2016)

  • safe but not special

    Review by Anton

this is a safe drinkable wheatbeer, but lacks that special something that its german/belgian counterparts have (Posted on 22/11/2016)

  • Refreshing

    Review by Ninja Terrier

Having got home from work on the warmest day of the year I remembered that I had this in the fridge. It was very refreshing but lacked any depth of flavour. (Posted on 14/09/2016)

  • Refreshing

    Review by cpeezy

A little too light and lemony tasting for my liking. Could do with some more depth to the flavour. Not as nice as shock top or some good Germanic weissbeers, very drinkable nonetheless and probably very nice on a summer's day. (Posted on 22/08/2016)

  • A safe wheat beer

    Review by No1smudger

A decent but safe wheat beer in that it was pretty non descript, but very drinkable beer, prefer Goose Honkers (Posted on 19/08/2016)

  • Very solid wheat beer

    Review by Elliot

This is a good wheat beer from the renowned Goose Island. Goes down easily and has a nice lemony flavour to it. Will buy again. (Posted on 01/08/2016)

  • A very nice beer

    Review by Baaatt

Very refreshing and easy to drink. Not loads of flavour but an excellent thirst-quencher. (Posted on 14/05/2016)

Not that much body but a decent everyday wheat beer. (Posted on 30/04/2016)

    Review by Llamaman

Caveat: I'm not a wheat beer aficionado, but...
I found this to be a bit 'safe' - not bad, but not particularly interesting either. Meh.

Maybe it needs the right setting - a warm summer's day, perhaps? (Posted on 21/04/2016)

  • Decent

    Review by Blind_Drunk

I am not to sure about Goose Island as a brewery, there beers are far from bad from wha I have tried but nothing that really stands out so far. This is a nice beer and worth a try if you like wheat beers (Posted on 02/04/2016)

  • Not what you would expect

    Review by Norcbot

Not what I expected for m a wheat beer. Similar to the German wheat but a bit lighter in flavor. Very different than the IPA s that I normally go for but deffinatly will do again. (Posted on 23/03/2016)

  • Cloudy goodness

    Review by Good head

A really good looking beer. It has a cloudy yellowness and is a really quality tasting brew. Tastes very citrusy and has a very mellow quality. (Posted on 18/03/2016)
