Belgian Tripel

The Belgian tripel ale was made famous thanks to the trappist brewery of Westmalle, it's actually not that old of a style. It had its genesis in the 1930's as more or less a reaction to the pale ale trends of the era. The Belgian tripel is obviously malty but not sweet; it's evenly balanced with a bit of a lingering spice. This Belgian beer is known for its fruitiness and a peppery spice with a rather dry finish.
