Thanks,The Beer Hawk Team.
Czechs love their beer, ranking No 1 in per capita beer consumption and go so far as to bathe in it too in the country’s Beer Spas. While most people (correctly) think of Czech beer as pilsner, there is a fabulous tradition of Dark Lager in the Czech Republic too which is well worth a try. Everyone knows Pilsner Urquell and Budvar but further examination of Czech beer reveals some real gems in Bohemia Regent, Koputsky and Svatý.
The first recorded brewery in the country was in 993 and Czech hops, recognised worldwide for its quality and aroma, has been cultivated from mediaeval days around the main Bohemian brewing towns of Budweis, Plzeň and Prague.
