Roosters Brewing Co

Here’s a little fun fact about Roosters - in 2013 we operated from the very same unit that they did in the 1990s! Based just down the road from us in Knaresborough they’re one of the early adopters of craft beer in the UK, creating hop-forward pale ales at a time when most beer over here was brown. Founder Sean Franklin was the first to import Cascade and Chinook hops from the USA and racked up countless brewing awards for his trouble. Roosters are still receiving accolades 20 years later, including recent wins for their YPA and Leghorn. When it comes to the ingredients in Rooster beers, soft Yorkshire water is key along with a closely-guarded strain of yeast and carefully selected hops. Look out for more experimental styles amongst their pale ales, including Londinium Coffee Porter.
