Zundert, brewed by De Kievit Trappist Brewery is one of just two Trappist beers brewed in the Netherlands, the other being the famous La Trappe. Hailing from the town of Zundert (birthplace of Vincent van Gogh), the abbey was founded in 1899 but didn’t start the traditional monkish pursuit of brewing until 2011. Amazingly, there are only 11 Trappist breweries in the entire world, with Zundert being the 9th to join the fold. Their self-named beer is currently the only one available from the brewery, but there’s nothing wrong with specialising, especially not when your only beer is this good.
