Forerunners of America’s craft beer revolution in the 1970’s and 80’s, Anchor is America’s first and oldest craft brewery, with roots dating back to the California gold rush. Entwined with the history of San Francisco, they produce their beer in a traditional copper brewhouse, where ancient techniques are combined with state of the art technology.
Combining all-malt mash and whole-cone hops, Anchor beer ferments in the cool San Francisco air - giving off the steam that gave us the name Anchor Steam Beer. Their Liberty Ale was the original brew that started off the craft beer revolution - not a bad claim to fame!
