Wiper and True Milkshake

£2.99
4.1

The Bristol-based brewery Wiper and True prides themselves on making beer that is just outside of the ordinary. With a passion for tinkering and experimenting, the Milkshake Milk Stout is laced with real vanilla pods to bring about a rich and luscious bottle-conditioned milk stout. The Milkshake Milk Stout starts out with notes of chocolate, coffee and dried dark fruits on the nose. A sweet and creamy flavour is accentuated by similar qualities but also has a bit of a spicy earthiness due to the British hops. Velvety and rich, this beer has a deceptively low ABV.

Very good rendition of a milk stout. Creamy, thick, sweet. (Posted on 11/02/2017)

  2. A lovely milk stout Review by Franz

Creamy, rich and delicious, but was hoping for more of the vanilla and chocolate hit. Would definitely buy again, though. (Posted on 11/02/2017)

One of my favourite milk stouts ever. Never disappoints. It's smooth, creamy, sweet with loads of coffee and dark chocolate notes. (Posted on 09/02/2017)

A lovley sweet, creamy, roasty stout and tastes a lot like quality chocolate milkshakes! I wish Wiper and True would do a higher strength version. (Posted on 18/01/2017)

  5. Decent Milk Stout Review by Pad Wan

Tastes good, with a big bang of vanilla. Maybe not as creamy as some other milk stouts but still super smooth and goes down easy (Posted on 17/01/2017)

I was a little unsure on the 1st swig, it was like nothing I've tasted before. The 2nd mouthful was a different story. Smooth, and deliciousy fruity... It's now one of my favourite. (Posted on 11/01/2017)

Delivers what it promises, thinner than other milk stouts but a reliable bottle that has its purpose in my beer drinking schedule. Sweetness comes through well. (Posted on 05/01/2017)

  13. Good taste but too thin Review by Bruce

There were some good flavours packed into this, strong Vanilla and almost a brûlée type smell, but it lacked thickness and body for my taste. (Posted on 14/10/2016)

  14. Nice, smooth Beer Review by Ben
    Rating

Smooth, this beer goes down very well. The taste is not overpowering as can be with some stouts. This is a great beer. I would highly recommend this beer to all dark beer lovers. (Posted on 02/10/2016)

  15. Smooooth Review by Tworopes
    Rating

Would have ideally scored this at 3.5 but as its not an option it's a 4 from me, very smooth and velvety, good flavour and a nice level of sweetness for a beer of this type. (Posted on 13/08/2016)

  16. Slightly dissapointed Review by Ben

A expected more from this beer, the flavour was ok but let down by a weak mouthfeel. Milk stouts should be creamier than this. (Posted on 29/07/2016)

I quite like a couple of W&T's other brews, but this one doesn't work for me....way too thin for a stout, over-sweet but no heft at all: tastes like a 3.5abv despite being 5.0. Needs to man up! (Posted on 19/07/2016)

  19. Delicious Review by Steve

Such good flavour. Chocolate, vanilla and very creamy too. I like this one a lot. Delicious! (Posted on 05/07/2016)

Creamy sweet stout, vanilla, chocolate tastes. A decent shout, but I prefer a heavier beer (Posted on 21/05/2016)

  21. Dessert Review by Abdyman

Please don't buy this beer, it doesn't seem to be around much and I want it all.
Lovely stout, a bit of sweetness with the vanilla and a great feel.
I would really like a stronger more intense version, that would be the perfect stout. (Posted on 30/03/2016)

  22. Velvety goodness Review by Good head

It has a really dark colour and a velvety smooth taste. Tastes like a milkshake and has a wonderful and rich taste. A really good chocolate and vanilla that make this a great beer with spiciness of the hops. (Posted on 13/03/2016)

It's a stout. A lovely creamy stout. That tastes like a vanilla milkshake. And has slight strawberry hints. Do I need to say more? Delicious. But now sold out!!! That makes me a saaaaaaaad panda. (Posted on 06/03/2016)

I was really looing forward to this one but for me it just didn't taste that good. I don't know how else to describe it apart from watery. (Posted on 02/03/2016)

Exactly as a Stout should be. Smooth an creamy with strong Chocolate and a soft vanila flavours. For a low ABV this brew packs a strong punch with its tastes. (Posted on 29/02/2016)

  27. Sweet Review by MeanGreen

A good milk stout. Sweet with a medium weight mouthfeel. I was expecting a slightly heavier, velvety texture and more notes of chocolate. Not entirely disappointed, but would like a heavier beer. (Posted on 16/02/2016)

Smells of Vanilla and has a creamy decadent aroma. It tastes really smooth, it is sweet but not sickly sweet this would be perfect to drink on any occasion. (Posted on 09/10/2015)

  32. A yummy milk stout Review by Nate

A very yummy milk stout (although not quite as nice as the left handed NITRO). Very drinkable and smooth.

The smell this one gave off was beautiful when it hit the glass.

You WILL NOT be disappointed! (Posted on 29/07/2015)

  33. Pudding In A Glass Review by Ay Pee Horne
    Rating

Deliciously thick and creamy, with a real dessert vibe to it. An anomaly among its peers, due to its relatively low ABV. This doesn't detract from the overall taste in any way and simply means you can have more than one! (Posted on 12/06/2015)

  34. Good stout Review by BitZimBobs

I am a relative novice to stouts - have been drinking them for about 2 years. This is the best stout I have tasted thus far. Creamy, Smooth, Bold Chocolatey/Coffee notes. Not a strong stout either, you can enjoy 2 or 3 nice and slowly. All round good stout. (Posted on 09/06/2015)

  36. This'll bring the boys to the yard ... Review by interzen
    Rating

This is not your average milk stout - no sirree. The name isn't just a play on words either, this can indeed be thought of as something akin to an alcoholic chocolate and vanilla milkshake.

Pours like a typical stout - opaque black, thin tan head which settles down to a foam cap and some ringing around the glass. Smell strongly of roasted malts, toffee and caramel with a hint of vanilla. Taste is wonderfully thick, with definite hints of chocolate and vanilla although not as 'full on' as a chocolate stout.

Overall, deliciously drinkable and velvety smooth - it doesn't pack the punch of an Imperial stout but then again it doesn't need to - this is perfect as it is.

Bizarre name aside, Wiper & True are definitely one to watch and I'll definitely be sampling more of their wares. (Posted on 09/05/2015)
