William Bros started off as a home brew shop in Glasgow and were ticking along quite happily until 1988 when one day a lady wandered in with a recipe. The recipe was in Gaelic for leann fraoch (heather ale) and had been handed down through the generations, but she didn't know how to brew it.  The two got together and after a period of experimentation the first William Bros beer was born!

Combining roasted barley, pale malt, chocolate malt and oats with fresh root ginger, this spiced porter is subtle, restrained and well balanced. Midnight Sun has notes of coffee, chocolate, ginger and some earthy hops, with a light body and dry finish.

Well flavoured porter.

This porter is almost black with a cream coloured head. Chocolate and coffee on the nose with some hints of fresh tropical fruit. Dark chocolate continues through the flavour with oats, bitter hops and a surprise helping of ginger notes on the finish.
Good stuff

If you love ginger, you will love this

I love ginger but wasn't sure how well it would work in a porter; however, it's not too spicy and compliments the sweetness and bitterness of the chocolate and malts really well. More full bodied and this would be even better but I really enjoyed this
