This is a tequila barrel aged smoked sour with grapefruit and lime zest. This starts life as an amber sour brewed with smoked malt. It is then aged in blue agave tequila barrels with the grapefruit and lime zest, before being blended on even more grapefruit. The resulting beer is smoky, complex, and laced with bright citrus character, as well as a little earthiness. A really interesting sour for the adventurous beer drinker.
In 2009, Walt and Luke Dickinson sat at a craft beer bar and talked about the dream of opening their own brewery focusing on big, West Coast hoppy ales and authentic Belgian ales brewed to inspire those who drank them. There would be no looking back.
