Weird Beard have have had a few play dates with the Azimut Brewery in Bordeaux, the two got on really well and have only gone and brewed up a Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream Pale Ale. The intention of this particular brew was to make a beer for the hot summer days of South France. However I feel that Ice-cream is suitable no matter what the whether. To smell its like breathing in a fresh arctic gust and to taste your overcome by a powerhouse of creamy minty goodness. We also recommend having this beer a little warmer (between 7–10°C) to allow the subtle chocolatey aftertaste to linger you at the end.

Brewery Info

Some of the country's best breweries have emerged out of the homebrew scene, and Weird Beard are probably the best example. Gregg Irwin and Bryan Spooner (big beards), made the hugely successful transition to a commercial brewery after winning award after award for their home brewed beers. They launched Weird Beard in 2012, and have since made hundreds of marvellous beers… none boring. As they write: “We love upfront, in-your-face, hop-focused beers, along with classic styles. Proudly experimental and happily non-conformist.” Cheers to that

Alongside the core beers – Little Things That Kill, Mariana Trench, Five O’Clock Shadow, Black Perle – we’ll always be picking up those specials that catch our eye. Pig Smasher anyone?
