It’s rather mundanely called 888 Session Ale. Don’t be fooled, it’s anything but mundane, or session for that matter! Another liquid love poem to fruit from the maestros at To Øl , it packs in strawberry, blackcurrant, tangerine, mango, papaya, passion fruit, cherry and raspberry (try saying all that in one breath). That’s 8 fruits, read ‘em and weep (for joy!). The red berries are dominant throughout with some subtle stonefruit, juicy sweetness peeking in as well. It’s tart but lightly sweet with quite a boozy finish. It’s like a party in your mouth and all the fruits invited!
After several years of brewing beer in their kitchen and selling it to their friends, Tore Gynther and Tobias Emil Jensen founded To Øl in 2010. Their first beer was a collaboration with Mikkeller and, with such an auspicious start, they were always going to do well.
