Every year To Øl do a Christmas blitz, putting out some decadent, Christmassy beers. You’d be expecting huge beers all round, however, they also produce some dialled down and sessionable beers as well. 3Xmas is just such a beer. At 4.7%, you can drink it all day but it still packs a flavourful punch, and, dry-hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic, it’s packed with all the pine, citrus and tropical fruit flavours we love. It doesn’t skimp on the bitterness either, with a powerful bitter finish. It’s an all-round tour-de-force in old fashioned US IPA harking back to an era before the lactose and brut IPAs of today. After several years of brewing beer in their kitchen and selling it to their friends, Tore Gynther and Tobias Emil Jensen founded To Øl in 2010. Their first beer was a collaboration with Mikkeller and, with such an auspicious start, they were always going to do well.
