Tiny Rebel The Full Nelson

From humble beginnings come great things and since starting in a garage in 2008 that clearly holds true for the Newport-based Tiny Rebel Brewery. Officially launching in 2012, Tiny Rebel has taken the craft beer scene by storm winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze in the 2013 Champion Beer of Wales competition and taking Gold again in 2014 for their Fubar Classic American Pale Ale.
Style Pale Ale
Country British Beers
ABV 4.8%
Serving Temp 6-8 °C
Bottle Size 330ml
The Full Nelson--either in the form of the wrestling move or this Pale Ale--will knock you off your feet! Chocked full of the Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand, this beer perfectly displays the wine-like characteristics that the hop is famous for. Notes of white grape, sweet citrus, and Sauvignon Blanc wine are supported by a nice balancing bitterness and a toasty-biscuity malt profile in this creamy and moderately dry beer.

not the best beer, I think Tiny Rebel are going a little down hill, concentrate on the beer please, if I wanted it to be average I would buy some supermarket stuff, (Posted on 11/04/2017)

    Review by foxy

This is a good tasty beer by an excellent brewery, but their best is the clwb Tropicana, bring it to beer hawk quick (Posted on 01/04/2017)

  • Not great

    Review by KMH222

This is a disappointment from a brewery that normally nails it and is under-rated. Drinkable, but by no means special. (Posted on 20/03/2017)

  • Better than I had expected

    Review by thankgodforhops

I'm not a huge fan of Nelson Sauvin hops, but I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. The hop balance with the malts is good and so it didn't have much of that white wine type flavour that the hop is known for.

    A 3.5 for me, but I rounded up to 4 :-) (Posted on 01/01/2017)

  • Still learning to love Nelson Sauvin hops...

    Review by Katy Skywalker

Quite sweet, grapey flavour with a slightly bitter finish. (Posted on 27/07/2016)

  • Very nice

    Review by Abdyman

Another great beer from Tiny Rebel, not my favorite beer of theirs but still very good and really drinkable. (Posted on 04/04/2016)

  • Light and refreshing

    Review by Nathan

Aroma: Fruity, hop bouquet. A scent of mango and sweet grapes.Slight zesty notes. Overall, distinctive Nelson sauvin hop has a nice presence.

Appearance: Golden amber with a warm orange hue. Clean white head, diminishing over time leaving a slick low-medium lacing.

Flavour: More subtle in flavour than aroma. A subtle sweetness pierces through the mango hops. Light and refreshing.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and silky. (Posted on 04/03/2016)

  • A bit of New Zealanf

    Review by S.Stanbridge

Haven't come across Nelson Sauvin hops before but was very impressed with these hops in this ale. Lovely clean crisp pale ale. This is my 2nd Tiny rebel beer after trying Fubar. Very impressive beers so far. (Posted on 27/02/2016)

  • One to enjoy over and over

    Review by tehhaz

A very flavourful and easy drinking beer that you will want to try more than one of for sure. (Posted on 02/01/2016)

  • Satisfying

    Review by Jay Gamboa

Not quite as generous on the Nelson Sauvin as I expected (I have Garage Project beer to blame for that), however, it is still a very well made IPA which will find itself being ordered with some regularity. (Posted on 04/12/2015)

  • One of my favorite

    Review by Norcbot

Love very hopie beer like this. Very balanced and one of my favorites (Posted on 04/12/2015)

  • Light & Refreshing

    Review by Blind Drunk

I wouldnt say this is one of the best Tiny Rebel has to offer but it is a nice crisp ale which goes down very easily and would be perfect for the rare times when we have some sun. (Posted on 30/11/2015)

  • What a cracker

    Review by Hop Botherer

Great beer that was not hopped within an inch of its life. You can taste grapes without it being over powering. All in all a very clean crisp Pale. Would have again. (Posted on 19/11/2015)

  • Nice start, odd finish

    Review by palerich

I thought I liked this to start with, but like one reviewer above found it to have a weird after taste. Nice enough otherwise (Posted on 12/10/2015)

  • Very NZ flavour

    Review by Geofff

Reminiscent of green hop flavours, these NZ hops are not for everyone ... solid brew though (Posted on 06/09/2015)

  • Lovely and refreshing

    Review by PaleRich

This was the first beer out of my most recent case and it was a good choice. Clean and crisp, and not too hoppy. (Posted on 10/08/2015)

  • Refreshing

    Review by JackyW

As a pale ale, was very fruity and crisp. Really like the distinctive hops used for this beer. Really enjoyable from the fridge in the summer! (Posted on 24/07/2015)

  • I'm a wino now...

    Review by Ady Gray

I like New Zealand hops since I first tried brews using them by Thornbridge and Hawkshead. This is right up there with the offerings from those two. Not too sweet, not too dry, balanced and delicious... (Posted on 02/03/2015)

Crisp, tart and refreshing. An excellent example of the style. Could literally drink it all night. Tiny Rebel make some great ales and this is one of their best efforts.
