Tiny Rebel Dirty Stop Out

Details
From humble beginnings come great things and since starting in a garage in 2008 that clearly holds true for the Newport-based Tiny Rebel Brewery. Officially launching in 2012, Tiny Rebel has taken the craft beer scene by storm winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze in the 2013 Champion Beer of Wales competition and taking Gold again in 2014 for their Fubar Classic American Pale Ale.
Style Stout
Country British Beers
ABV 5%
Serving Temp 8-10 °C
Bottle Size 330ml
Ruby-highlighted dark brown and easy drinking, this smoked oat stout is so engaging that before you know it, you're taking sip after sip. The aromas on this beer are rather bold with smoke, roasted malt, coffee grounds, and perhaps even some peat. Admittedly, the flavour is outdone a bit by the aromas but its notes of brown sugar and subtle smoke are delicious. Moderately dry with a great bitterness to it, there's no reason to save this beer for colder weather.

Product Reviews

  • It's dirty.

    Review by Matthew

Great beer one of my favorites from Tiny Rebel. (Posted on 20/11/2017)

  • Smokin'

    Review by PaulN

I got 2 Tiny Rebel bottles (the Stay Puft being the other, but I haven't had that yet). This one was a lovely, smokey oat stout. Great malty, coffee taste, and the smoky element isn't overpowering, so it goes down well. (Posted on 14/11/2017)

  • Smooth... too smooth!

    Review by Edward

Sessionable, but not boring! The smokiness comes through brilliantly, and all the flavours hang together perfectly at just the right strength to open another - or two :) (Posted on 19/08/2017)

  • Oat so simple

    Review by Leedj1

Bitter, malty, with slight burnt smokiness. Lots going on, nice. (Posted on 17/08/2017)

  • Creamy

    Review by Rich

The oats really do help this one to slip down the throat.

Bitter coffee flavours give way to a smooth finish - lovely. (Posted on 08/08/2017)

  • Really good

    Review by Jo

Black colour, chocolate, caramel, brown sugar and malty aroma, medium creamy, crisp mouthfeel, chocolate, coffee, berry and malty flavour, smoky, slightly bitter, chalky aftertaste. (Posted on 29/07/2017)

  • Very nice stout

    Review by Dirty little stout

A very nice easy to drink stout =] beautiful flavors (Posted on 16/07/2017)

  • Surprisingly Refreshing

    Review by baz_the_barn

Apart from the odd Guinness, I do not tend to drink stouts as I have always found them to have a bitter aftertaste, not this one. Poured with a lovely head that lasted hints of chocolate and coffee (Posted on 10/04/2017)

  • Subtle smoke

    Review by dmukgr

The smokiness was a little underwhelming for my personal taste, but nevertheless, it is a fine tasting stout that lingers for just the right amount of time and makes you wish you had another bottle when it's gone. (Posted on 09/01/2017)

  • Excellent

    Review by Siwalker85

Nice bit of smokiness but it doesn't overpower. Excellent stout (Posted on 07/01/2017)

  • Foamy and mild

    Review by Good head

Really foamy lively head and a black colour. Very mild tasting at first and then the flavour does grow more. A pretty nice beer though could do with a bit moor to it. (Posted on 26/11/2016)

  • Full of flavour

    Review by mik

Very tasty, fresh and smoked notes. Give it a go! (Posted on 19/10/2016)

  • subtle smoke

    Review by Doomlord

really smooth stout, level of smoke just right for me, subtle which doesnt tire towards the end of the glass. (Posted on 09/07/2016)

  • Decent stout

    Review by Johnny

Aromas of smoked malt, nuts & caramel. Tastes is very much on the smoked side with again malt, nuts & caramel present along with bacon & some slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall I really liked this and will look out for there other offerings.

  • Awesome Smoked Stout

    Review by Ay Pee Horne

Deliciously smooth and creamy smoked stout. Very rich and cloying, with a burnt toffee aftertaste. Excellent example of the style. (Posted on 30/10/2015)

  • Thumbs up

    Review by Blind_Drunk

Simply put, do Tiny Rebel make a bad beer as I haven\'t tried one yet. (Posted on 08/10/2015)

  • Smokey bandit

    Review by Geofff

The smoked aftertaste is subtle but effective ... kinda a session stout, light but balanced (Posted on 06/09/2015)

  • Not bad for a stout

    Review by AlexB

Generally a fan of lighter beers, but this hasn't got the really bitter after-taste I find many have (Posted on 27/04/2015)

  • Smoky and satisfying

    Review by Markiemark

A really fresh and different taste for a stout. Give it a go (Posted on 21/04/2015)

  • Good start for those who don't normally enjoy stouts.

    Review by Slapbang

I don't drink a lot of dark ales/stouts/porters but I quite enjoyed this. Aroma of mild smokiness and roasted malts. The taste is smoky, light chocolate and coffee with a malty bitterness. a little dry bitterness but not as sweet as it smells. still works well (Posted on 10/04/2015)
