Aren’t hops amazing? The addition of a single variety, in this case Citra, can lift a beer to dizzying heights. Yet it takes a skilled brewer to squeeze every last drop of flavour out of each one. Thornbridge’s Rob Lovatt (interviewed in this Beer Club Collection), has given this beer a whacking tropical aroma, with guava and ripe citrus coming through. We love it.

  1. Awake the Kraken! Oh, Cracken? What's that?
    Review by Llamaman

A very likeable pale ale. Slightly hazy pale gold. Nose is pithy orange and grapefruit, softened by a slight buttery/honey note.
To taste, a medium bitterness. Draws you in for another sip, so disappeared rather quickly. Excellent refreshing summer drinking, just not 5* 'wow'. (Posted on 24/05/2017)

  2. A quality brew
    Review by Ninja Terrier

I guess I just have a soft sport for Thornbridge, but with good reason. As always this is a high qulity brew the exudes flavour its just a pity that Thornbridge now put their offerings in 330ml bottles. (Posted on 18/04/2017)

  3. Not bad...!
    Review by Beebo

Slightly hazy pale gold colour with a small white head. Aroma: citrus, grassy, lemon, zest. Taste: citrus, lemon, zest, light malt, dry light bitter finish. Light body, good carbonation and mouthfeel. Fairly simple but nice and refreshing, very easy drinking. (Posted on 16/04/2017)

  4. Citrus
    Review by Good Head

Golden yellow with a fast diminishing head. Very citrus in flavour and has a slightly carbonated and smooth feel. Very good pale beer indeed. (Posted on 11/04/2017)

  5. Citrus
    Review by Slack Babbath

A decent citrus pale ale with some haziness. Very refreshing would be ideal for the summer and for the price well worth it. (Posted on 04/04/2017)

  6. Average
    Review by KMH222

Find Thornbridge really hit and miss, this is a middle of the roader. Nothing special, but by no means offensive. It is cheap at least (Posted on 20/03/2017)

  7. Solid but nothing special
    Review by MR EGG WHITE

Decent Pale with nice flavours but nothing that wowed me. Easy drinking session Pale that is very good value for money. (Posted on 16/03/2017)

  8. Decent
    Review by Snozz

Pale but quite yellow colour, white bubbly foam. Light and easy drinking golden ale, low to medium bitterness, nice fruity Citra hop character. The hop is identifiable but doesn’t quite sing as much as some other similar beers. Pleasant though. (Posted on 07/03/2017)

  9. Ordinary drink
    Review by dazzler

Nothing special here but you have to try things and it was very run of the mill, good brewery though as I have had some tasty ones from them, price very reasonable as well, overall OK (Posted on 10/02/2017)

  10. Very nice
    Review by wgardner

Lovely crisp pale, it's quite a nice rounded hop flavour and clean, crisp malt. (Posted on 03/02/2017)

  12. Great beers....small bottles
    Review by Bruce

I have tried to avoid Thornbridge ever since the 330ml was introduced but decided this was worth trying. It was absolutely worth it, great fruit aroma which were replicated in the taste, finish was refreshing and lively. Recommend (Posted on 28/01/2017)
