Named after a traditional style of Mexican hot chocolate, as soon as the can is cracked open Xocoveza releases a heady aroma of coffee and cocoa, but an earthy, almost savoury undertone of spice and chilli peppers tempers the experience and prevents it becoming overly cloying or sickly.
In the mouth it's indulgent and silky smooth, and the palate - nay, your entire head - is saturated with pungent roasty aromas, cocoa and chocolate truffles.
Stone is, without any doubt, one of the world’s greatest breweries. Right from their beginnings in San Diego in 1996, founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner have grabbed the trademark gargoyle by the horns with massive beers such as Ruination and Arrogant Bastard, as well as the highly-hopped and highly drinkable IPAs. This is a brewery that is creative, innovative and very passionate. There is no compromise on quality.
In 2014, Stone made the audacious decision to open a brewery and bistro in Berlin after looking at 130 sites in nine countries. Now fully open, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens is set in a former gasworks. As well as a restaurant, bar and shop, this brewery now supplies even fresher beer across Europe. Our co-founders were lucky enough to get a sneak-peak of the facility, and we're among the first to sell Stone Berlin beers.
