The history of wheat beer is also the history of the Schneider brewing family and its famous Schneider Weisse. A brewery of great history and tradition, Schneider can be credited with resurrecting a style of beer that came close to extinction in the late 1800s and has built a reputation of being the most distinguished and exclusive purveyor of wheat beers in Germay Eisbock is a stunning little bottle of supercharged Aventinus that was created by accident while regular Aventinus was shipped across chilly Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Occasionally the beer partially froze and this concentrated the brew as water turned to ice leaving a stronger, more complex liquid behind.

Almost perfect

A rich tasting wheat beer with fruity undertones and a caramel texture. The only reason it didn't earn 5 stars is the 12% means it has to be enjoyed in moderation.
A bit special

All Schneider Weisse beers are special, so this one has to be almost the guilty secret. Dark and rich in flavour the 12% should not put you off trying this delicious wheat beer in moderation of course.

Very strong, best drank in isolation, session beer it is not.
Dark and syrupy but still kind of heady like a tripel. Good stuff.
