What are the odds that Magic Rock and Verdant Brewing Co would get together and brew a double-dry hopped DIPA? You wouldn’t have got good odds from the bookies considering both breweries propensity and proclivity for all things IPA and above. As is to be expected from two of the UK’s absolute IPA masters, this beer is dank, juicy, powerfully hopped and just beastly (in a good way!) on all fronts. It pours a golden-amber murk. The aroma is an onslaught of hoppy goodness; pineapple, orange and citrus fruits, stone fruits and there’s even a bit of vanilla peaking its way through. The taste brings a veritable barrage with pine, tropical fruits and mango part of the opening salvo. It’s all backed up by sweet malts and oats give the beer a delightfully thick and syrupy body. It’s all rounded off with, you guessed it, bitterness, but actually it is quite a restrained and thoughtful bitterness. What are the odds?

Brewery Info

Founded in 2011 and in the vanguard of the first big wave UK craft breweries, US beer culture and the desire to bring a little bit of that to the UK is at the heart of what Magic Rock do. Coupled with a strong sense of and attachment to the local beer traditions, they exploded onto the beer scene the now seminal Cannonball IPA.

Their core range is as varied as it is bold and outstanding (how many breweries would be brave enough to put a gose in their starting line-up) and is ever growing, and as they’re brewed year-round, you’ll always be able to get them!

Hazy delicious hazy DIPA

Verdant and Magic Rock really are both IPA wizards, so what else would you expect except a delicious well balanced fruity IPA.

Tastes like it has a slight wheat base, which I love for an IPA, and has big fruity aromas from the yeast.

This was never going to disappoint and it didn't

I really enjoyed this beer. DIPAs aren't always my scene, but this was really good
Cloudy, juicy heaven

An absolute joy. You can taste the Verdant influence on this beer.

It has a big fruity mango and pineapple aromas, and then a big fruity mouthful.

Its really smooth, no real bitterness and a haziness from wheat in the mash.

You get a sense that it is quite alcoholic, but this adds to the experience.

If its still in stock I'll definitely be getting some more.

This collaboration series has not failed to delivery, Magic Rock really stepping up to a new level (it was already pretty high)
