The result is a a beer full of rich dark fruits, vanilla and hazelnut, with a warming coffee tang. The clever use of Sorachi Ace hops adds a zingy earthiness.

  • Great

    Review by Alex

Nice example of a coffee porter, smooth well balanced beer with good depth of flavour (Posted on 16/02/2018)

  • Creditable

    Review by Llamaman

You can see why Magic Tock has a decent reputation.! This ain't a show-stopping world-class beer that makes you weep tears of joy, but it is a very good coffee porter. It has all the desirable porter characteristics (think: Maillaird) combined with the not-totally-original-but-frequently-executed-with-mediocrity flavour of coffee. And it really does taste of coffee - they're not mucking about. A class act. (Posted on 04/02/2018)

  • Decent coffee porter

    Review by Simon

This is a very drinkable coffee porter. There's not that much going on but it beats other similar brews (e.g., Nightmare on Bold Street). (Posted on 18/01/2018)

  • Pleasant

    Review by McGee

Easy to drink. Fresh feel. Light fizz on the tongue. Nice mild coffee after taste (Posted on 12/01/2018)

  • Quaffable

    Review by GEORGE

Very drinkable, decent for the price and ABV. Coffee aroma, and very sweet milk chocolate, vanilla and coffee flavour. Nothing to get too excited about but certainly worth it for the price. (Posted on 10/01/2018)

  • Standard stout

    Review by Jack

This beer is not going to blow you away but it's also not going be a throw away. A well rounded porter that is unoffensive and has a good balanced flavour. (Posted on 06/01/2018)

  • Eminently drinkable!!

    Review by Edward

The flavour on this is perfectly-balanced with a real coffee hit, unlike so many of those one-dimensional added-coffee porters out there. One might say it lacks a little body to back up the first-rate taste, but this just makes it all the more quaffable!! (Posted on 06/01/2018)

  • As it says on the tin!

    Review by Mark

Loved it! Seven different coffee beans at three different stages definitely give it that big coffee flavour, if youre into your coffee and porters then this might be the one! (Posted on 22/12/2017)

  • Coffee bomb

    Review by David

An enormous coffee bomb of a beer. If you like coffe in your beer this is for you. A bit too much for me (Posted on 14/12/2017)

  • Really nice beer

    Review by x1dvp

A really nice beer that was different and yet smooth. The coffee flavour really added a new dimension to the drink. I would buy some more. (Posted on 12/12/2017)

  • Good but not great

    Review by richardcbristol

I love a porter. I love a coffee porter. I love a choc porter. So... It poured OK but lost it's head pretty quickly. Looked like a glass of coke. Smell of chocolate and coffee as expected and similar in the mouth with dark malty flavours and bitterness. It's pretty decent but lacked a little body for me. (Posted on 11/12/2017)

  • It's a great beer

    Review by Bill

I was expecting the coffee to overpower this but it's very subtle. The flavours all complement each other and all in all, one of the best porter beers I have had. (Posted on 09/12/2017)

  • Coffee, Chocolate, Beer

    Review by Daniel

This is an excellent porter. Everything combines beautifully. (Posted on 08/12/2017)

  • Ground coffee in a can

    Review by Jack Swans

Actually tastes like ground coffee with a bit of fizz. Too watery for me, but a nice alternative to black Americano. (Posted on 29/11/2017)

  • A cracking beer

    Review by Kev20v

This is one of my favourite beers. Delicious flavour of coffee and chocolate, what a fantastic combination. Ticks all the right boxes (Posted on 04/08/2017)

  • Love it..

  • Magic Porter

    Review by Good Head

Has a silky smooth coffee flavour that is really rather good. (Posted on 04/07/2017)

  • Superb

    Review by MrDeek

This was the first Coffee Porter I tried and I was surprised how much I loved it. The subtle coffee flavour comes in at first and helps round the overall taste off really well. (Posted on 22/06/2017)

  • Quality

    Review by Leedj1

I am a fan of coffee beers, this is the best i have tried, not too bitter as is the case with some, distinct coffee flavour but not overpowering. nice. (Posted on 20/06/2017)

  • Great porter

Coffee kick big time. (Posted on 01/05/2017)

  • Coffee Coffee Coffee

    Review by Mr.B

Starting off with big hit of coffee notes leading to some chocolate. Am not getting much of the vanilla. Lovely though. (Posted on 23/04/2017)

  • Fantastic

    Review by Garygph

My second visit on this one. Love it. This puts magic rock on the craft beer map in the UK. (Posted on 18/04/2017)

  • Black Coffee

    Review by Ninja Terrier

Starts of with a massive coffee hit then moves on to chocolate before a soft vanilla finish. Well worth tracking this one down (Posted on 17/04/2017)

  • Uncommonly good

    Review by Llamaman

My experience of this differed from the other review!
This is brewed with coffee, cocoa and vanilla - and, despite the name, it is the latter two notes that stood out for me.
Rich and creamy, (Posted on 25/03/2017)

  • Espresso delights

    Review by Bruce

I shared this with a friend who is not usually a dark beer drinker and her first reaction was it tastes just like a espresso, hard to better that first reaction.

It is a lovely beer, pours really pitch black, with a slight tan head, aroma is strong coffee, slight taste of chocolate.

The body could be a little fuller but hard to fault when it tastes as good as it does, carbonated ever so slightly so you do not get the same mouthfeel of some heavier porters. (Posted on 15/01/2017)
