This rugged hydrometer takes lab-accurate readings ranging from 1.000 to 1.070 SG, and is made from durable plastic rather than glass.

We offer other Herculometers to zoom-in on different gravities:

1.060 to 1.130 Precision Hydrometer, for checking original gravity of big, strong beers

As with all Herculometer hydrometers, this one is made with rugged polycarbonate plastic. This Precision Scale Hydrometer takes accurate readings from 1.000 to 1.070 SG.

Easy to read hydrometer. Better than the one you've got.

I'm loving these Herculometer hydrometers. Not only do they sound like a machine invented by Poirot, they are also good sturdy and easy to read hydrometers. This one is from 1.000 to 1.070 so will cover the majority of beers you'll be brewing. It's really reassuringly chunky so seems to settle better than I've been used to... my old one was a bit light and seemed to bob around a bit, making it a bit uncertain what is was going to settle at. Good bit of kit, get one.
More accurate readings for most beers

A typical full range hydrometer goes up to 1.150 - much higher than beer brewers need most of the time. This hydrometer with its shorter range of 1.070 is ideal for the majority of beers I brew, and the shorter scale gives more accurate readout in single units. No more guesswork! Recommended.
