Details

One of Norway’s leading breweries, Haandbryggeriet produces live beers which aren’t pasteurised nor filtered—and their Fyr og Flamme IPA is no exception. This highly-rated beer has a lovely hoppy character with notes of orange, citrus fruits and pine that is complemented by a sweet caramel maltiness with hints of grains. An assertive bitterness balances the sweet character and lingers long past the last sip.

Brewery Info

Brewery Huyghe was founded in 1906 by Leon Huyghe, although brewing has taken place in the town of Melle, East Flanders since 1654. Huyghe’s best-known beers are their ‘Delirium’ range, instantly recognisable from the cavorting pink elephants on the label. Their signature offering Delirium Tremens is actually considered one of the best beers in the world, rating consistently highly on beer rating websites.

Brewery Huyghe are kings of innovation - their slogan ‘you ask, we’ll brew it’ encompasses their no-holds-barred brewing philosophy. They complement their core range with fruit beers, white beers, Abbey beers and even gluten-free beers, although the pink elephant will always be a firm favourite.

Pours cloudy amber with off-white head. Aroma is fruity, malt, dried fruits, apricot, mango, citrus. Slight sweet/creamy taste with a tropical fruit vibe. Very drinkable.

Golden in colour with a great big creamy head like an ice cream floater! Very dry and nicely hopped. A delicious unfiltered beer!

Unsure about this one. Very malty, nice but I think I’ll have to drink a few more before I decide if it’s for me. But then again I would drink a few more so...
Nice find.

A decent beer with good overtones but on the wrong side of sharp for me.

Bottle from Beer Hawk. I know Haand from their Stone/Brewdog collaboration Inferno, one of my favourite beers. So I had high hopes. It’s slightly hazy gold with a large snow-white head. The aroma is soapy and fruity which continues in the taste. Light, dry and subtle with a bitter aftertaste. Not bursting with flavour.
Nice hopper!

Dark amber pour. Malty aroma. Malty hop monster on taste with a lasting bitterness. Nice example of style!
