Hazy straw in colour with a funky little nose, Sofie is a light and complex Belgian ale aged over orange peel in wine barrels. Dry and tart, subtle and zesty with a spicy sense of humour, she makes for the perfect drinking companion. This is a classy tipple that gives a sense of occasion; drink at weddings, graduations, breakfast.

Brewery Info

Great breweries start with a clear vision. Founder John Hall’s was to bring the best of European beer styles to Chicago. Since its modest beginnings in a brewpub in 1988, Goose Island went on to make some of America’s greatest beer, including Goose IPA that won medals not just once, but six times at the Great American Beer Festival.

Managed to nab half a dozen on these on Cyber Monday at half price and I can see why it's pricey. Sensational beer. Perhaps a little hoppier than a usual Saison but overall just a fantastic example. Best beer I've had from Goose by a long way!

Light, dry, highly carbonated Saison.
A slightly sour taste, oaky chardonnay on the nose and hints of pepper.
It keeps drawing me back to memories of Brettanomyces yeast strains beers
