An almost black pour with a solid head. An almost bitter quality to the heavily roasted malt, wafts of chocolate and some liquorice too. The taste has a soft sweetness with big bold dried fruit flavours. A medium body with a long lasting finish, which is surprisingly dry. A good beer option for Burns night, the bard would certainly approve.

Brewery Info

Fyne Ales was founded in 2001 by Jonny and Tuggy Delap after forced early retirement had them moving back to Tuggy's ancestral home and lands. Their aim was always to find a new purpose for the estate to create jobs, tourism and industry for Argyll. The idea of a brewery was mooted and sold, and so, 10BBL brew kit was installed in one of the old cattle sheds.

Fyne Ales started out as a traditional ale outfit, and they rapidly garnered local recognition. With the advent of the craft beer revolution, they started to branch out into craftier offerings starting with the American hopped Jarl. They moved into Belgian and American inspired farmhouse creations with their origins project, which sees them experimenting with mixed fermentation, barrel aging, locally sourced seasonal ingredients and weird and wonderful recipes.

Whatever you choose you can be sure it'll be a Fyne Ale!

This is a perfect stout and would get it again without thinking about it. Love the bottle and the taste is unreal.

I was really looking forward to this based on the reviews. It was simply okay, nothing to write home about.

This went brilliantly with Haggis, neeps and tattles.
Superfyne stout

Delicious, improved with every sip as it warmed up with a Burns Night stew, a worthy drink to the bard. Bitter dark chocolate, molasses/dark muscovado, coffee, smooth roasted and dark rye toasty notes, and even a touch of blackberry/brambly and blackcurrant flavours. Paired brilliantly with blue cheese, which really made it sing sweetly. A sublime drinking experience, and great amount to share.
Oh wow!

Dark in colour with a small foamy head. Has that distinct stout taste. Really silky smooth in feel and has a strength in taste that separates it from most other stouts. One of a kind bottle and a one of a kind beer. Well worth the money for this one as you can tell the effort and love that goes into it from the taste.
