Details

This was first brewed in 2010 as a special for FyneFest, an annual celebration of beer, people and music hosted by Fyne Ales. This is single hopped with Citra, which makes for a bright lemon and grapefruit aroma, supported by a hint of biscuity malt. Flavour is a little malty sweetness, with a hefty dealing of bitter citrus. A clean and balanced golden ale.

Brewery Info

Fyne Ales was founded in 2001 by Jonny and Tuggy Delap after forced early retirement had them moving back to Tuggy's ancestral home and lands. Their aim was always to find a new purpose for the estate to create jobs, tourism and industry for Argyll. The idea of a brewery was mooted and sold, and so, 10BBL brew kit was installed in one of the old cattle sheds.

Fyne Ales started out as a traditional ale outfit, and they rapidly garnered local recognition. With the advent of the craft beer revolution, they started to branch out into craftier offerings starting with the American hopped Jarl. They moved into Belgian and American inspired farmhouse creations with their origins project, which sees them experimenting with mixed fermentation, barrel aging, locally sourced seasonal ingredients and weird and wonderful recipes.

Whatever you choose you can be sure it'll be a Fyne Ale!

Light and refreshing - perfect for a warm summer's evening but didn't really do enough for me to earn a spot in my next basket.

When I ask your this little bevvy on draught at my local I'm pretty sure that my Middle England accent doesn't quite do it justice.. I seem to use less grunt in my voice than I think is needed, think pronouncing 'Jarl' in the same way as 'Prince Charles'.. Anyhooo.... A great little drink and fantastic to be able to sup it up at home!
