FLYING DOG BEERS

Flying Dog brewpub was founded by astrophysicist George Stranahan in 1990, and they started brewing in 1994. It just so happened that ‘gonzo’ journalist Hunter S. Thompson lived just down the road and the two became friends - when Thompson committed suicide in 2005, Gonzo Imperial Porter was brewed as a tribute. To this day, Flying Dog’s labels are created by Ralph Steadman - the subversive British artist who illustrated Thompson’s work. No stranger to controversy, Flying Dog have found themselves in hot water over their beer names, with ’Raging Bitch’ being refused a license in Michigan. Whatever you think of the names, you’ve got to admit that Flying Dog make great beer.

Excellent service, needed a box of particular beer by a certain date, Beer Hawk kept me informed from the moment it left the warehouse until it was delivered and it arrived on the day required.
Great selection, delivery to standard.
I placed an order on Monday 22nd May and it was safely delivered on Wednesday morning first thing - I call that excellent service, so many thanks indeed.
