FLYING DOG BEERS

Flying Dog brewpub was founded by astrophysicist George Stranahan in 1990, and they started brewing in 1994. It just so happened that ‘gonzo’ journalist Hunter S. Thompson lived just down the road and the two became friends - when Thompson committed suicide in 2005, Gonzo Imperial Porter was brewed as a tribute. To this day, Flying Dog’s labels are created by Ralph Steadman - the subversive British artist who illustrated Thompson’s work. No stranger to controversy, Flying Dog have found themselves in hot water over their beer names, with ’Raging Bitch’ being refused a license in Michigan. Whatever you think of the names, you’ve got to admit that Flying Dog make great beer.

"Very slight delay with the delivery, but they contacted me to apologise and gave me a \u00a35 voucher towards my next purchase. Beers arrived well packaged, and they have a great selection. Overall, highly recommended."
"Husband was really chuffed to receive this case of beer on Valentine's Day. A great selection. I think a pamphlet explaining the heritage of the beers, ingredients etc would be a nice touch. I also think a nicer box or bag would be a nice for gifts rather than just a cardboard box."
"What a joke!!! Can't believe I even got an email to write a review. Order didn't arrive. Had to telephone FIVE times to find out what was happening. In the end requested my money back. Will never ever use again "
