As the youngest member of the Erdinger family, the Urweisse is nevertheless rooted in history thanks to its recipe that dates back to the brewery’s founding. As with all Erdinger beers, the Urweisse is brewed in strict accordance with the German Purity Law using high-quality malts, hops, water and a distinct yeast strain.
The Urweisse is a classic Bavarian wheat ale that pours a hazy light amber colour with a big foamy head. Notes of lemon, earthiness, bread dough and some subtle banana complement the particularly spicy aroma. Its flavour is slightly sweet and tart with notes of spice and bread. This German wheat beer has a great drinkability thanks to its creamy yet crisp mouthfeel and light body.
