De Koninck is an amber-coloured Belgian ale that is low in alcohol content with a good malty flavour and--thanks to a good dose of Saaz hops--a slightly bitter finish. Velvety smooth with a nice creamy head, this is a pleasantly drinkable and refreshing beer.
Established in 1833, it's now impossible to separate the city of Antwerp from the De Koninck brewery. Today Brewery de Koninck has been incorporated into the Duvel Moortgat brewery group. Trivia: The glass in which De Koninck's flagship beer is served is called a bolleke!
