Helles

Another German response to the success that the Czechs were having next door. The helles--also known as the Munich helles--is a golden, slightly sweet, malt-forward beer with a medium body and a good bit of carbonation. The helles was invented in the late 19th century a little after Munich brewers figured out how to treat the water in order to best make pale beers.
