One of the best-known breweries in Britain, Adnams is based in Southwold on Suffolk's Heritage Coast. Founded in 1872, it's one of the oldest and most established craft breweries, but Adnams hasn’t rested on their laurels. As well as brewing this family-owned operation runs a wine merchant, distillery and several successful hotels.
Big on sustainability, Adnams use local ingredients wherever they can and aim to be super energy-efficient. Their eco-distribution centre even has a living roof, lime and hemp walls and a rain harvesting facility. But what about the beer? Well, Adnams brewery might look wonderfully Victorian but it hides state of the art technology, allowing their brewers to experiment with different barley, hops and yeast strains to create amazingly original flavours. We love their traditional beers in 500ml bottles and their ‘Jack’ range of boundary-pushing brews which come in 330ml bottles.
