With a nod to the Vienna lager style whilst incorporating British dry hopping, the Brooklyn Lager is a true American original. Full of flavours and aromas thanks to a heavy hand with hops it’s the long maturation process that results in a smooth and refreshing drink.
The Brooklyn Lager pours sparkling clear amber with a frothy white head. Its excellent balance is achieved through its malty and earthy notes that are complemented by aromas from the hops and a perfectly dry finish. An absolutely flawless craft lager.
Originally one of America’s foremost brewing centres thanks to its large German population, the last Brooklyn-based brewery closed in 1976 in the face of overwhelming competition from bigger Midwest breweries and consumer preference (at the time) for light pilsner beers.
Brooklyn resident Steve Hindy made it his mission to reignite brewing in the area, and in 1984 founded Brooklyn Brewery with the goal of bringing good beer back to New York City. Now headed up by Brewmaster, beer author and all-round beer icon Garrett Oliver, Brooklyn Brewery has become an international beacon for good beer.
