Brooklyn Brewery was started in 1987 by former Associated Press correspondent Steve Hindy and former Chemical Bank lending officer Tom Potter. The label design and company logo were created by the world renowned designer, Milton Glaser, best known for the 'I Love NY' logo.

With a nod to the Vienna lager style whilst incorporating British dry hopping, the Brooklyn Lager is a true American original. Full of flavours and aromas thanks to a heavy hand with hops it’s the long maturation process that results in a smooth and refreshing drink.

The Brooklyn Lager pours sparkling clear amber with a frothy white head. Its excellent balance is achieved through its malty and earthy notes that are complemented by aromas from the hops and a perfectly dry finish. An absolutely flawless craft lager.

Brewery Info

Originally one of America’s foremost brewing centres thanks to its large German population, the last Brooklyn-based brewery closed in 1976 in the face of overwhelming competition from bigger Midwest breweries and consumer preference (at the time) for light pilsner beers.

Brooklyn resident Steve Hindy made it his mission to reignite brewing in the area, and in 1984 founded Brooklyn Brewery with the goal of bringing good beer back to New York City. Now headed up by Brewmaster, beer author and all-round beer icon Garrett Oliver, Brooklyn Brewery has become an international beacon for good beer.

First tasted in Brooklyn itself and the beer that led me down the craft ale road! Fantastic!!
Better than average lager

A strong, bold flavour, with a hint of bitterness. Quite enjoyable.
One of my favourites

A pleasing find in one of the wonderful mixed cases.

A lovely amber colour, with a nice smooth head that holds all the way thru the glass. I think it falls into the vienna lager category, and is a drink I am always happy to see in any bar or shop.

Sometimes I just want a lager, and this is one rewarding as one with dinner or for a session.

One of my favourite beers, crisp and refreshing. I highly recommend!
Dark and tasty

This is one of my favourite beers. Brooklyn larger is not what you expect if you are looking for something light and golden. A dark, hoppy flavoursome beer with an after taste of malt is fab for summer or winter, don’t miss this, it’s a winner!
Okay larger
