Hello beeries! Hope you're all enjoying these foggy autumn days. In November's Beer Club we've got plenty of lovely libations to warm you up, including seasonal specials Anchor Big Leaf Maple Red Ale, brewed with Californian maple syrup, and the intensely autumnal Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale!

We love our American beer here at Beer Hawk, and this month all case sizes will include Rams Head IPA, a West Coast style IPA from Fordham in Delaware. At 75 IBUs (International Bitterness Units), Rams Head is one big bitter beastie, with citrus and resin given even more of a punch by a dry, rye spice. Small, Medium and Large cases will also contain the cheekily named Founders

Small, Medium and Large cases will also contain the cheekily named Founders Dirty Bastard, an 8.5% ABV Scotch ale brewed with seven different types of malt. A hint of smoky peat lingers over the complex, rich body full of sweet caramel notes and a robust hop profile. Gorgeous.

Over to Belgium now, and every Beer Club member will be receiving Poperings Hommelbier, a hoppy pale ale; a widespread style here in Britain, but far less commonly brewed in Belgium. Locally grown hops give a spicy, lightly bitter character, with a restrained but slightly sweet pale malt flavour. Gentle and refreshing with a hint of citrus, you certainly wouldn't expect this beer to have an ABV of 7.5%! Hommelbier is accompanied by an old Belgian favourite, Bosteels Kwak. Full-bodied with a mellow fruitiness and sweet notes of caramel, brown sugar and banana, Kwak is rounded off with a touch of spice and bready yeast; an absolute classic.

Subscribers to the Medium and Large cases will be discovering the Dutch brewery Kees, the new project of Emelisse Brewery's former head brewer. Dutch craft beer has a fantastic reputation at the moment and Kees is no exception. Kees Farmhouse IPA is bitter and slightly tart, with a traditional saison funk, pithy orange flavours and plenty of juicy tropical fruit, while Just Another IPA has a modest name but plenty of character. Grapefruit, a fresh grassiness and some soft tropical fruit notes are well balanced by the toffee backbone, while a touch of subtle yeast spice just creeps in before it finishes dry, bitter and refreshing. This brewery is one to watch!

So go on, wrap up warm and enjoy exploring the rest of the goodies in your Beer Club case. We're certain they'll take the edge off the November chill. Cheers!
