Partnering with small Bavarian breweries, the South Africa-based And Union produces classic craft beer styles. Unpasteurised and unfiltered, beers like the Wednesday hefeweizen strictly follow the And Union ethos of small-batch production using traditional methods and ingredients.
Classic hefeweizen notes of vanilla, clove and banana are obvious in both the flavour and aroma. The sweet flavour is balanced by a nice spicy bitterness whilst a creamy carbonation finishes off the smooth mouthfeel. This is a delicately drinkable beer—perfectly sessionable!
