  • Bit of a let down

    Review by ChrisBaker108

Unfortunately I found that hops were a far more dominant flavour than the maple. :( (Posted on 29/07/2016)

  • Autumn Red Ale

    Review by Katy Skywalker

Cherry coloured ale, some fizz and lots of frothy head. Fruity, slightly sweet aroma. Fizzy mouth feel. Rich, toffee malt flavour with a suggestion of maple syrup. (Posted on 09/12/2015)

  • Very Drinkable

    Review by k3vw

I was expecting the maple flavour to dominate but it was very subtle and added a bit of sweetness to great example of an American Red Ale (Posted on 27/11/2015)

  • Lacking

    Review by Blind Drunk

For me it was lacking in Maple favourm i expected a nice punch of maple but it simply dint deliver in my opinion (Posted on 24/11/2015)

  • Take it or leaf it

    Review by Llamaman

As always, apologies for the puntastic summary.

A pleasant enough autumn ale... is that damning with faint praise? The maple is there, but in reigning in its sweetness, its character is only subtle, leaving you with essentially a competent but uninspiring red ale.
Glad I tried it, but it's the Anchor Foghorn Porter that'll be reordered. (Posted on 15/11/2015)

  • Big taste

    Review by RachB

Big Maple is a big taste. Cracking flavours in a very drinkable ale (Posted on 13/03/2015)

  • Decent

    Review by Congo_Red

Nice autumn ale, the maple falvour is obvious but without being so sweet it overpowers the beer. (Posted on 13/02/2015)

  • Great maple red ale

    Review by Bz

Excellent holiday ale with great sweet notes of maple syrup but still crisp hoppy aftertaste (Posted on 11/02/2015)

  • Very drinkable

    Review by Stuart O

One of the better Autumn beers around. You can taste the maple if you drink it at the right temperature. Either way, it's 6%!! (Posted on 04/02/2015)

  • Dodgy Bottle?

    Review by Ay Pee Horne

I'm beginning to think I had a dodgy bottle. I found it thin, under-carbed and distinctly lacking in any sort of maple flavour. Certainly not up to the usual standards of Anchor. I love the idea of the beer, but I'm sure my bottle was pooped. I'd be prepared to give it another go. (Posted on 22/01/2015)

  • lovely red ale

    Review by bammers1954

this is a lovely example of the red ale style, nice malt and hop balance making an easy drinking beer that was quiet morish! (Posted on 11/01/2015)

  • A beautiful rounded beer

    Review by Quitekate

On taking my first sip, I said 'Lovely!' out loud (NB: I am not usually someone who talks to their beer). Warm and lightly sweet, this is a winner. (Posted on 07/01/2015)

  • More Anchor loveliness

    Review by Lee

Got this in a case and glad I did - I'll be getting more. Full-flavoured but easily drinkable, another great beer from Anchor. The caramel works really well with the pale. Tops. (Posted on 26/12/2014)

  • My favourite seasonal beer

    Review by Beer Hawk Tom

Glad to have had the privilege of trying the Anchor Big Leaf Maple! My favourite of our seasonal beers. I’m a fan of the gorgeously shaped bottle and its lovely artwork too. (Posted on 03/11/2014)
