Questions about Christmas delivery

What is the latest date I can order to get Christmas delivery?
We’ll be doing our best to rush all Christmas orders through right up until Christmas eve and even if you miss the deadlines our warehouse elves will be working to get the beer to you in time. Please bear in mind though that we do have limited stocks of our specialist beers so may run out of some items if you leave it until the last minute. We do have some dates by which we can guarantee delivery though as follows:-
• Mainland UK deliveries are guaranteed up to midnight on 17th Dec
• Highlands and Islands take a little longer to get there so the deadline for that is 15th Dec.
• International deliveries vary – please call us for more details

I don’t know anything about beer, but want something nice for a beer lover– what would you recommend?

Questions about delivery

How long does delivery take?
We promise to get the beer to you in 5 working days, but in most instances we are quicker than this and you'll get it within 2 working days. If you need it quickly or for a special occasion then give us a call on 01423 525750 or drop us a line with a contact form.

How much do you charge for delivery?
Delivery is free on all orders over £50 and £6.99 for orders below. Some postcodes in the Highlands and Islands and Northern Ireland do incur extra charges, but these are all displayed on our checkout pages so you know what is charged before you pay.

Your delivery charges are cheaper than other websites, does that mean it's less reliable?
No, we use a national overnight delivery company and also pay an additional charge for their premium fragile service. The reason we are cheaper is because we want to keep your delivery charges to a minimum so pay for this fragile service ourselves.

Do you ship overseas?
Yes we can. Please call us on 01423525750 for details.

What happens if one of the bottles breaks in transit?
Breakages are rare, but if there is one, it's our responsibility. We insist our courier company lets us know if they break anything and we immediately send you a replacement at our expense.

Can you deliver beer to a different address than my own?
Yes we can. There's an option during checkout to ask us to deliver to another address, so if it's a gift or you think you might be out during the day then it's often easier to get it delivered to a work or neighbour's address.

Do I have to order in certain quantities?
No - you can order as many bottles and in whatever multiples you choose. Our packaging boxes are designed for 15 bottles, so if you are able to order in these quantities then it helps make it more efficient for everyone.

What happens if I am not in when the courier delivers?
That's fine. They will look to leave it in a safe place, or with a neighbour, and pop a card through your door to tell you where it is. If there isn't anywhere suitable they will take it back to the depot and let you know that too. Redelivery will be attempted a minimum of three times or you can call them to arrange a different address or collection.

Can I collect from your warehouse?
Yes, feel free to pop in and see us. If you live nearby, there will be an option to collect on the checkout screen. If you live further afield then simply enter our address (HG3 2BX) as the delivery address and the same option will pop up, we’ll then email you when your delivery is ready to collect.

How will I know if my gift has been successfully delivered?
You can track your order using our couriers website here. When we despatch the parcel you’ll receive an email with your tracking number and can follow your delivery through each stage of the courier network and see when it has been successfully delivered.

Can I specify what date I’d like my beer delivered?
We do our best to accommodate delayed delivery. Please call us on 01423525750 and we’ll see if we can help.

I am ordering a gift, will they know how much I've spent?
No, there are no details of price in any of our boxes or on the delivery notes

You don't stock the beer that I want. Could you get me some?
We work with lots of breweries and suppliers so will happily try to. Let us know what you are after and we'll hunt it out.

What happens if the recipient doesn’t like the beer?
That’s a most unlikely event as all the beers we offer have been tested and checked by our tasting panel and we believe are some of the best on offer from across the world. However if you change your mind or want to swap for a different style then our returns policy can be viewed here.

What payment methods can I use?
We partner with Realex to offer a wide range of Debit and Credit card payments. We also offer PayPal.

How do you make sure that my details are kept secure?
Our website is secure (it has an SSL certificate, so you know checkout is over a secure connection), and we also partner with Realex who are the largest global secure payment providers.

What benefits are their with Beer Hawk being a Google Certified Shop?
