Celt Ogham Oak

Celt Ogham Oak

Part of the marvellous Ogham range, Oak is one of Celt's elite brews. Branded an "Exotic Tripel" with Belgian Yeast, this is a warmly spicy beer very much in the spirit of a Belgian tripel only with an overt citrus freshness that makes this an excitingly unique beer

  1. Wow Review by tehhaz

I can't agree with some of the other reviews on here as I think this is beautifully balanced - this coming from someone not especially fussed on the tripel style as a whole, and who thoroughly dislikes excessive sweetness or citrus flavours in a beer. A wintery evening treat, sip and savour. (Posted on 12/12/2015)

  2. Interesting winter tripel Review by Erwin

The Celt Ogham Oak is described as an "exotic tripel" - which could not be further from my experience.

Straight from the first sip you can taste cinnamon. Cinnamon is not very often used in beers as it will overpower almost all other tastes - the same is sort of true here but it is not unpleasant. The next thing you taste is orange peel which is lingering more in the back. The mouth feel is very full, warm and a bit sweet - also because the ABV is 8,5 percent. Drinking it reminded me of winter or Christmas - certainly not of tropical places!

This beer is pretty unique - I never tasted a beer quite like it. After I finished my glass I was happy it was done. The novelty did not work for me all the way through the glass.

Recommended for a cold winter day, people who like "different" beers or people that like cinnamon. For me it was a 3 out of 5. (Posted on 25/06/2015)

  3. Excellent tripel Review by BZ

  4. Flavoursome Review by Pinchy

Agree with the other reviewer. Some spice and citrus but I enjoyed it. One to savour (Posted on 17/01/2015)

  5. kate Review by kate

fabulous beer. strong but lovely flavour (Posted on 03/01/2015)

  6. The Big, Bad, Bold Belgian Review by Ay Pee Horne

Belgian tripel with a twist. Punchy and a bit spicy. The zing of citrus at the end is a little confusing. Not one I would have again if I'm honest. (Posted on 25/11/2014)

Purchased 2 cases of Belgium beers wow what quality will buy more defo
Ordered a 3 month beer club for hubby for his bday. Received one package but yet to receive the second or third. Called 3 times this week for answers and not received a call back. Won't recommend or use these again. Shame really.
I'm very happy with the service I received at Beer Hawk. I was after a special release beer that had sold out very quickly. I sent Beer Hawk a tweet asking if there were any extra bottles available and Tor replied promptly that he would have a look in the warehouse. He found some bottles which were then delivered promptly, packaging was good.
