Belgian Ale is our catch all term for the lighter beers brewed in a Belgian-style.
The base is a golden or pale ale but it’s brewed much stronger than a British beer and is at least 6%. While always a top fermented product i.e. an ale they also appeal to lager drinkers who appreciate the freshness and the fact they tend to be served directly from the fridge. They have a slight granularity and bitter hoppiness that ensures the flavour can combat the cold serving temperature however if you allow them to warm up then you get a much more complex flavour palette.
